Kids in college, soldiers away from home, grandparents to fill in another state, a box of tasty treats love from home or family members. Cookies travel well and are always a welcome treat. Here are some cookie recipes you make the next time you are treating a box could try. They are good at home, because! Honey Raisin drop cookies are a unique version of an oatmeal raisin cookie. And who would not want a Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie?

RAISIN HONEYDROPS

04:03 cup honey
04:03 cup butter
2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups uncooked oatmeal
04:03 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon salt
2.1 tsp baking soda
1 cup seedless raisins

In a large bowl, cream honey, sugar, butter and egg together. Sift stir together the flour, cinnamon, salt and soda into the cream mix. Add the oatmeal and raisins. Stir and mix well. Drop by heaping teaspoons onto the prepared baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees on the upper ovenRack for 12-14 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool on a wire rack.

Yield: 4 dozen cookies

CHEWY CHOCOLATE Peanut Butter Cookies

1 1 / 4 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
04:03 cup baking cocoa
1 teaspoon baking powder
2.1 tsp salt
2 cups peanut butter chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large mixing bowl stir the cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, beat well. In a separateBowl, blend to combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; gradually into the creamed mixture. Stir in the peanut butter chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls on ungreased baking sheets. Bake 8-9 minutes being careful not to overbake. These cookies are soft and puffy. They are flat while cooling. Cool slightly to remove the pan, then to wire racks can be removed from the baking sheets and cool completely.

Yield: 4-5 dozen cookies
